After the heinous act, Chennai Super Kings player Suresh Raina visits his uncle's house who was murdered in Pathankot
Ahead of Indian Premier League 2020, Chennai Super Kings Suresh Raina had to return from UAE and had to pull out of IPL in order to support his family. Unfortunately, Suresh's uncle and cousin passed away after a violent attack in Pathankot which reportedly happened on the night of August 19. Due to which, his aunt is in a critical state and fighting for life. Soon after the tragic incident, Raina took to his Twitter handle and requested the Punjab Police to investigate the matter. Later, they announced that the case of Suresh Raina’s kin has been solved and three members of an inter-state gang of robber-criminals were arrested while 11 other accused are yet to be arrested. The latest update we hear is that Suresh visited the house of his uncle who was murdered in Pathankot and told ANI that the 'Police are doing a good job' while thanking the Chief Minister for helping them.
Earlier, he even shared a tweet about the development which read, "This morning in Punjab, I met the investigating officers who reportedly have napped three criminals. I truly appreciate all their efforts. Our loss can’t be recovered but this will surely prevent further crimes to happen. Thank you @PunjabPoliceInd @capt_amarinder for all the help." For the unversed, an attack occurred on the night of August 19 when the family was sleeping on the terrace of their residence in Pathankot's Thariyal village where the unidentified assailants attacked them with lethal weapons.
Due to which, Raina's father's sister Asha Devi is critical and fighting for survival while his uncle Ashok Kumar succumbed to death. His cousin so succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
